Amazon giant otters will be the subject of my next postdoc research
I have recently accepted my dream job - a postdoc position with the San Diego Zoo Conservation Institute and the WildCru unit at Oxford University, to study the effects of mining and human-related disease on Amazon giant otters. I will start on April 2017.
I will be based in Cusco, Peru and work in the area of Manu National Park, an important biodiversity hotspot. The region's giant otters were studied between 1991 and 2006, mostly by Jessica Groenendijk, who will collaborate on this upcoming study.
